Adventures of Mr. Finch Soren

Note: I don't have much to update regarding the cleft these days. More to come later this month or early next month. But here's a little update of Finch's travels! Pictures included of course :)

Anyone who knows me and Cory, they know we like to travel. Cory's travel bug has started to disappear just a bit, but mine is going strong. I thought once I had a baby, the desire to travel to the extent that I had before would dissipate. But it hasn't. Rather it has changed.

I'm still getting used to the lack of freedom we once had. The times when we could dream of a trip and just do it. This isn't exclusive to travel either. This is an entire adjustment to everyday life. If I want to go to the grocery store, or see a friend, or go to a concert, much planning must go into it. Planning always had to go into travel, so perhaps that's less changed. But more anxiety is involved in figuring out what we need and what Finch will be like at that point in time. He changes so much from week to week, it's our guess what he'll be like months from now.

That all being said, we've made it a point to ensure that Finch is used to travel - both around and outside our hometown. So at almost four months, Finch has already been on 4 planes (two roundtrips to Spokane) and two long-ish distance car rides (long for a baby that is) to Seattle (at 5 weeks) and Astoria (at 3 months). And so far, he's been a champ through it all.

And there's more to come! In the coming months, we'll be traveling to Seattle (next weekend actually), Illinois, possibly Colorado, and in February, Mr. Finch will take his first international trip to Argentina. There may be other trips in there as well, but for now, our little guy has a pretty full life of travel ahead and we're grateful for his adaptability.
